Lofotkraft Group

The vision of Lofotkraft – “Securing everyday life – investing in the future” is a commitment. Therefore, Lofotkraft is now taking an active role in transitioning to a renewable and fully electric society in our region.

The societal mission of the Lofotkraft Group is to ensure a stable power supply with high delivery quality and a fiber network with high uptime and good service quality for our customers. The business mission is to create value for our owners. To deliver on the societal mission, we have expanded high-speed fiber networks throughout Lofoten and prepared the power grid for the upcoming electrification.

Now, we engage in regional collaboration to develop new future-oriented energy solutions. Our ambition is to leverage new technology and increase our competitiveness and pace of innovation. The transition to a climate-friendly energy system will involve significant changes in the coming years, and we will face more complex and demanding challenges than before.

The parent company, Lofotkraft AS, is owned by the six municipalities in Lofoten, and the Group’s headquarters are located in Svolvær.

Our Business Areas

In the Lofotkraft Group, the various business areas are organized in separate companies. The network company is a natural monopoly and is therefore tightly regulated by the authorities, while the other companies operate in competitive markets.

Authorities require the network company to be neutral and have a clear separation from other companies within the Group. Therefore, the network company in our Group has a different name and logo than the other companies in the Group.

Lofotkraft AS takes care of common tasks and covers expertise areas that are not suitable to be assigned to the business areas. The Group support functions include HSE, finance, IT, HR, quality, communication, and branding. Through the Group functions, Lofotkraft Group ensures comprehensive and coordinated business management, while also utilizing coordination benefits across the business areas.
