Bindal is a municipality in Nordland county, located in the south of Helgeland. The municipality surrounds Bindalsfjorden and the outer part of Tosenfjorden, and has a varied nature with mountains, forests, islands and bays. Bindal is the southernmost municipality in Nordland, and borders Trøndelag in the south. The municipality has an area of 1 241 km², and had 1 406 inhabitants as of January 1, 2022. 

Bindal has a rich history and culture, and is known for its Nordland boats and its polar explorer Otto Sverdrup.
