Grane is a municipality in the southern part of Helgeland in Nordland county. The municipality has an area of 2017 square kilometers and about 1500 inhabitants, of which around 1000 live in the municipal center Trofors. Grane is a road junction and borders Vefsn in the north, Hattfjelldal in the east, Bindal and Brønnøy in the west, and Røyrvik and Namsskogan in Trøndelag in the south.
The municipality has a varied landscape with forest, bog, mountain and sea, and offers many opportunities for outdoor activities, hunting, fishing and rafting. You can visit Majavatn, Norway’s largest inland delta, or take a trip to Børgefjell National Park, which is partly located in Grane. You can also experience the spectacular Laksforsen, one of Norway’s largest waterfalls.

The business sector in Grane consists mainly of agriculture, forestry, industry and service. There are also several private companies within construction, transport, trade and accommodation. Some of the largest employers in the municipality are Nortura Trofors, which produces meat and egg products, and Nordland Betong AS, which delivers concrete products to all of Northern Norway.
