Live in Leirfjord

Leirfjord has about 2300 inhabitants and an area of 272 square kilometers. The municipality is located around Leirfjord, which is an arm of Ranfjord. The municipal center is Leland, which has about 600 inhabitants. Other villages in the municipality are Bardal, Sundøy and Sjona. 

Leirfjord has a diverse business sector, with main industries such as agriculture, fish processing and service industries. The municipality also has several small and medium-sized businesses in various sectors, such as construction, transport, trade, crafts and tourism. Many of the residents also commute to work outside the municipality, as there are short distances to Sandnessjøen, Mosjøen, Nesna and Hemnesberget.
