Rødøy municipality is a beautiful and diverse coastal municipality in Helgeland, in Nordland county. The municipality has about 1150 inhabitants who live on the mainland and on some of the 986 islands in the archipelago. Rødøy is known for its rich natural and cultural life, with attractions such as the Arctic Circle, Myken lighthouse, Rødøyløva, Svartisen and Norway’s only teddy bear museum. The municipality also has an active business sector, with a focus on fishing, aquaculture, agriculture and tourism. Rødøy has good infrastructure, with road, express boat and ferry connections to the rest of the region. The municipality also has two schools and four kindergartens.
