Tjeldsund municipality is a municipality in Troms and Finnmark county, located north of Ofotfjorden. The municipality consists of Tjeldøya, a part of Hinnøya and the northern part of the peninsula between Ofotfjorden, Ramsundet, Tjeldsundet and Vågsfjorden. The municipality has an area of 775 square kilometers and 4,201 inhabitants . Tjeldsund has a varied landscape with mountains, forests, sea and islands.
