Most of us speak our minds, but we are actually not as foul-mouthed as many may think.
It must be said that there is something special about the people in Northern Norway. Perhaps it’s the long, bright summer nights that energize us. Or maybe it’s the frozen and isolated winter that makes us so resilient. Whatever the reason, there is no doubt that Northerners are a unique group of people.
Of course, this doesn’t apply to everyone, but many who live in Northern Norway are active individuals who frequently embark on mountain hikes, with or without skis. With such magnificent nature right outside our doors, it’s perhaps not surprising. And if you find yourself in the mountains or on a hiking trail, don’t forget to greet those you meet along the way.
Northerners are social and inclusive, and they love sharing stories and experiences with others. So don’t be shocked if the person standing at the bus stop strikes up a conversation or tells you where they’re going and why.
If you happen to visit Northern Norway, remember to take the time to get to know the people there. Before you know it, you may have made a lifelong friend.
